Information We Gather and How We Use It
We collect certain information from you in order to provide you with the most interesting and useful Web Site possible. This includes the computer’s IP addresses from which our visitors connect to the site that aids us in better understanding how our site is navigated, the number of visitors that view certain pages and how they arrive there, and the length & frequency of their stay at the site. Also, it can give us information on the computer operating systems and Internet browsers used by our visitors. The IP address however reveals nothing personal about you other than the IP address from which you have accessed our Site.

For registered users and Membership-level subscribers to the “Site”, we will have the email address you provided to us during the registration process. We may use this to send you emails when we have an update, as for example, when the next quarter Consensus Buys & Sells are published on the Site, or any other such information that we deem important and relevant to our Members. You can always opt out of these emails.

When purchasing Membership-level subscriptions and Individual Reports, the credit card or other payment information you provide is processed and stored on the servers of our payment solutions provider, which is currently PayPal, a subsidiary of eBay, and access is regulated automatically by our Membership Software in concert with your payment processing history for access to our Site maintained at PayPal. Our understanding is that PayPal, that currently operates in 190 markets worldwide and manages over 230 million accounts, and with $34 billion of net Total Payment Volume processed in the latest Q2/2012, is compliant with the security requirements of all credit card companies, but for those concerned, they can find more information by visiting http://www.paypal.com.

Cookies
A “Web Cookie” is a string of information that a website stores on a user’s computer, and that the user’s browser provides to the website each time the user submits a query to the site. We, or a third-party advertiser on our Site, may place a “cookie” or on your personal computer when you come to the site or visit a site on which we advertise. The cookies enable us track the pages that users visit during each Site session, both to help us improve users’ experiences and to help us understand how the Site is being used. As with other non-Personal Information gathered from users of the Site, we analyze and disclose in aggregated form information gathered using Web Cookies, so as to help us, our partners and others better understand how the Site is being used. We do not attempt to link information gathered using Web Cookies to Personal Information.

Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. Users who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers can set their browsers to refuse cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie before accessing the Site, with the understanding that doing so may impact your ability to use some features on our Site.

We also use third party advertisements on www.gurufundpicks.com to support our site. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP , the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed. This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing Boston real estate ads to someone in Boston, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).

We also may use DART cookies for ad serving through Google’s DoubleClick, which places a cookie on your computer when you are browsing the web and visit a site using DoubleClick advertising (including some Google AdSense advertisements). This cookie is used to serve ads specific to you and your interests (”interest based targeting”). The ads served will be targeted based on your previous browsing history (For example, if you have been viewing sites about visiting Las Vegas, you may see Las Vegas hotel advertisements when viewing a non-related site, such as on a site about hockey). DART uses “non personally identifiable information”. It does NOT track personal information about you, such as your name, email address, physical address, telephone number, social security numbers, bank account numbers or credit card numbers. You can opt-out of this ad serving on all sites using this advertising by visiting http://www.doubleclick.com/privacy/dart_adserving.aspx

You can choose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts. Deleting cookies does not mean you are permanently opted out of any advertising program. Unless you have settings that disallow cookies, the next time you visit a site running the advertisements, a new cookie will be added.
